Or perhaps it means P*nasonic-1? In line with the suggestion from Khen that
there were at one point three different sensored versions in development,
and the Panny sensored one is the one that got the go order. I doubt we as
mere mortals will even know the truth on this one but...

It's not really called a P-1. The Oly release says a name, like so much
about it, has not yet been decided. P-1 is just a working name, likely
standing for Prototype 1.
