I can tell you that on the TF-22, which is the E-System equivalent of
the T28, all the wires going to the head are AWG 26.
I bought bare-ended cables with the intention of grafting them to my
T-8 and T-10, but haven't worked up the nerve or spare time yet.

Ugh. Lap soldered and heat-shrinked is the way to go. Unless you
don't know what you're doing... :-)
