Dr. Flash says the SP350 is not a DSLR and therefore does not have a 
focal plane shutter.  Since it has an interline rather than a full frame 
sensor the shutter is able to be incorporated into the electronics of 
the sensor.  No specs available but it may (like the Mynolta A1) have 
both an electronic and a mechanical shutter.  The Mynolta is able to 
synch its built-in flash at all shutter speeds (up to 1/16,000 sec). 
The manual claims this is also possible with Mynolta external flash 
units but, at the same time and for unexplained reasons, they also 
recommend staying at 1/250 or less.
