I've never actually had the battery run out on my F10, even with a full
day of shooting in high speed mode.

The F30 has a special 'high speed mode' that speeds up focus noticeably,
cuts the time about in half. It's supposed to reduce battery life, but
the battery lasts so long I've never noticed any practical effect in my
use. F10 has the same thing. I leave it on all the time.
