Not longevity as such, but this:

has a very comprehensive set of listings for which brands of DVD will
burn more reliably. I don't know for sure, but I'd suspect that
consistent burnability is at least partly correlated with longevity.
Unsurprisingly, Taiyo Yuden come out near or on top -- given they
don't cost any more than other brands, I haven't bought anything else
for a while myself. (CDN$39.95 for 100-pk of top-end 16xDVD-r, $29.95
for 100 of their medium-quality ones).
