I'm glad to see that someone is interested in keeping me around. It's
the keeping myself around part that has turned me into a
self-prescriber. My cardiologist and GP both think I'm nuts and have
nothing to do with my self prescriptions for no statin drugs and the
addition of some CoQ(10). Relative to most nutritional supplements
CoQ(10) is quite expensive. Relative to statin drugs it's cheap. I
know of no negative consequence of taking a modest amount of C0Q(10)
other than my wallet might be a bit lighter. I know of many negative
consequences of statin drugs and believe I'm suffering some of them.

At this stage of near drug industry control of the journals (especially
the American journals) I suspect that a study that indirectly indicts
statin drug side effects has little chance of making it into a 1st tier
journal even if it be placebo controlled and of the finest design.

Read Ravnskov if you dare and then tell me your opinion of 1st tier
journals. My most recent four doctors (two internists and two
cardiologists in a Harvard teaching hospital) have rejected what I tell
them is in Ravnskov's book. But not one of them will read it even
though I offered to buy it for them) Ravnskov, by the way, *is*
published in 1st tier journals, principally the Lancet.
