I can also recommend Autostitch as it's free.  In my experience, 
however, it doesn't always work and when it doesn't there is no manual 
way to correct its errant ways.  But when it does work, which is most of 
the time, it does an amazing job.  Everybody ought to have a copy.

I left PTGui for Autostitch a year or two ago but PTGui seems to have 
incorporated some of the same kinds of automation technology found in 
Autostitch or at least it seems so.  But maybe not.  Autotstitch uses 
artificial intelligence object recognition technologies.  Don't know how 
PTGui works but PTGui is very much more intelligent these days than when 
I first bought it a number of years ago.
