I like it, except for the bright bits near her shoulder. That
area doesn't look natural to me, almost like reflection off a
mannequin. For me, the photo has nothing especially "Wow!"
about it (not that it needs to either!), but it is a very nice
portrait, maybe improved by some catchlights in the eyes,
maybe filling the shadows a little more. It has a little bit
of Adam Bolt about it, and his beachside portraits.
(Incidentally, over on the right near the whispy bits of hair
appear a couple of "blobs" you might want to clone out.).

I don't like this one so much. It's a nice pose with the hair -
an interesting portrait pose that I *do* like...except for
the thigh. The position just seems to turn it into all
thigh, and not in a way that might otherwise be flattering
(ie. I'm *not* advocating the heroin addict, anorexic, super
model waif look). Perhaps I'm just overly conscious of it
because I've always been cursed with the perfectly-useless-on
-a-male childbearing-hips. <g> The wrinkles in her costume
would possibly look better smoothed out. I think this more
interesting pose would look better in some more controlled
lighting conditions too - they look a bit harsh for this
posed-model look.

Karin is very pretty. If she's willing, I think you should
take advantage of that and experiment more with her (that is,
photographically-speaking :-) )perhaps indoors with controlled
lighting. She looks like a stunning portrait waiting to happen.

One person's "boring" can be another's "contemplative". I do
like this, though I can see why you state the question that way.
It needs to be big, so that small details can be contemplated,
even if not big enough for them to be totally identifed. For
me, it's one of those pictures I wouldn't take because it is
"boring", and thus become surprised when seeing the result
from someone else, and being somewhat enamoured of it. I like
it.

None of the above is "true" - it's just my totally subjective
opinion. :-)

Cheers,
Marc
