As mentioned the Oly position was that the OM-PC, OM 2S, 3 and 4 should be
used with a circ. pol , though only impact spot metering and manual exposures.
There were some old posts on the list I had checked a year ago before buying a
pol that few exposures were spoiled by a linear pol on any of the cameras
---obviously may depend on lighting conditions and the amount of polarization.
Any D-SLR that uses phase detection AF system would be unhappy with a linear
pol. Apparently many higher end dig cam do not use this system now, though I
have not seen a list. For curiosity sake, it would be fun to try a linear
pol on the 5D. All that being said, I often use a MC thin circ Pol anyway on
my OM-2.
