By coincidence(?), at least here, taking something out for a
"fang" is to take it out and give it a good test. It's usually
associated with the spirited examination of the performance
parameters of an automobile. If you're in said automobile, and
want to "Give it a fang", then press down hard on the State
Government Revenue-Raising Pedal (and, with Speed Cameras, the
government considers it a "fang" too - excellent in-comings for
very few out-goings).
