I'm tempted to go with an online service... I once had a bid fall through when
I could not complete a final bid on oBoy, and the note on JBidWatcher reminded
me of that. It was over broadband, incidentally.
Makes me wonder whether it's licit/legal for several bidders to agreee in
advance to pursue the same auction item and decide who gets it if any of them
was successful - a separate transaction altogether once the auction has been
completed and the item paid for. They could theoretically coordinate on bidding
levels/strategies so as not to bid things up too much. Must be fordidden
somehow.
