There are still some patches of decent fall color up in the foothills of East
Tennessee. I spent the day up there yesterday, talking with lawyers,
accountants, bankers, and other unprincipled undesirables, while starting the
process of probating my mother's will and settling the estate. I took only a
couple of shots while there -- of the color, that is, not at the lawyers,
bankers, et al.
My family never discussed money matters unless it was absolutely necessary. We
minded our own business and all assumed mother was financially secure and
reasonably comfortable, so we didn't concern ourselves with her situation.
Until yesterday, I had no idea just how secure and comfortable she really was!
Explains those bright red Cadillacs and getting a new dishwasher just because
the one she got two months previously "sounded funny."
Now, when is it them E-3 things are supposed to be coming out? I may have to
get a pair and a spare. :-)
