As long as the decision process is controlled by religious fanatics and
politicians, who are mostly lawyers and accountants, we are in serious
jeopardy on this little planet. Solutions for long-term sustained life are
available but are usually not implemented on a timely basis. It takes an
emergency to bring divergent interests together. That does not mean we
should stop trying to do the right things. Just being optimistic and
"assuming" things will work out is the path to failure. Unfortunately, those
with expertise and knowledge are considered to be biased and unreliable
witnesses by the lunatic fringe that wants control. Guess who the news media
