I read that too. What a puff piece! It's all based on Oly's promo
material, not actual use of a camera. It says absoultely nothing about
the key issue, noise. The E-1 is noisy compared to all other DSLRs and
the E300 stuffs more mps into the same sensor size without any mention
of technological improvements in the sensor. Nik*n is managing with
similar sensor site sizes, but using quite extensive and innovative
techniques to minimize noise.

It also says nothing about another important issue, the viewfinder. As
the Schnozz has so eloquently pointed out, less than fill frame DSLR
viewfinders are less than desirable in brightness and image size. Will
the view through an E300 be good enough? And how about low light focus,
another area where the E-1 falls short of the competition?

The E300 is a very attractive package in many ways, but pictures and a
feature list don't tell the tale. The reality won't start to become
clear until reviews of production cameras show up. I hope it's a winner.
