I think there are adapters using corrector lenses to allow OM mount
lenses to be used on Nik*n bodies. This is from before digital, but may
work mechanically with digital bodies.

There is, however, a very significant difference in metering design
between Nik*n and the Can*n, E-1 and Pent*x DLSRs. Although Nik*n brags
that it still supports the same lens mount that they started with, that
is not entirely so. Nik*n 'consumer' level wunderbricks long ago stopped
supporting metering for anything but their AF lenses (and even this is
complicated with at least 2 levels of compatibility). The top level,
'pro' bodies continue to support all but the very oldest lenses, which
can be modified. I assume the main reason is the mechanical linkages and
extra complexity/cost of integrating the older lenses. Anyway, the
upshot is that bodies like the D100 and D70 do not support metering OF
ANY KIND with MF lenses. You need a separate hand-held meter!!

The Can*n DSLRs and the E-1 support any metering mode that makes sense
with MF lenses that the camera doesn't have the mechanism to
mechanically stop down That is, they can't do shutter priority. The
Pent*x has somewhat more limited MF metering support, but will at least
allow you to take an exposure reading. but they too require an adapter
with a corrector lens.

Sooo..... Except for some specialized project/purpose(s), any lenses but
late variety AF Nikk*rs are pretty useless on the Consumer level Nik*n
DSLRs. I don't remember all the models lens designations and
intercompatability within the AF Nik*n lines 'cause I don't care. In
fact, I wouldn't write all this except to warn a fellow zuikoholic of
the unadvertised pitfalls waiting in that direction. Yes, I do have an
F2a and FG and some older Nikk*rs I inherited from my father, but
haven't used them in ages.
