Time for new batteries.....at least that should be the first thing to try.

Subject: [OM] Battery question - OM2n

I work in a rather isolated spot that is full of wildlife. When I take a
break, I normally carry an OM2n with me - just in case! Today, for
example, a red-tailed hawk swooped down and landed on a branch about 6 feet
from me. However, when I went to take a shot, the camera froze up. I
noticed that the red light doesn't come on when I push the lever to do a
battery check, so I assume the batteries are dead. Yet, the meter in the
camera is still operating!

Is it possible there is enough 'juice' in the batteries to work the
meter, but not the camera? Also, on my OM2, even if the batteries died, I
could still use it manually (I believe it fell back to 1/60th sec.) - but
this one locks up until I push the battery/reset lever. BTW, I did remove
the batteries and cleaned them off just in case. This didn't help.

Thanks!

Jim Caldwell
