There is a kind of M42->EOS adapter which presses the stop-down pin, and
not that expensive:

This is the very same type I got, and works fine -- though not as
beautifully made as the Kindai OM->EOS adapter.
BTW, there is another type of M42 Adaptall, marked 'for Praktica LLC', with
a non-locking stop-down lever -- works in a similar way to the Zuiko's DOF
preview button.
