A slotted crash helmet probably wouldn't have too much strength left. That
might be OK though as most people I've seen wearing mohawks probably didn't
have much brain to protect anyway. Their demise might improve the gene pool.

I had seen a couple of guys with Mohawk haircuts on motorbikes and they wore
what I took to be 'slotted' crash helmets. I thought it was an ingenious
idea to preserve their coiffure without falling foul of the law on the
compulsory wearing of protective headgear. I had it all wrong. It's a
generation gap thing :-)
