According to my parts lists, the oldest 135 2.8 & 3.5 (silver nose) did NOT
have the ill-fated plastic insert.
135 2.8 MC and NMC and 135 3.5 type 2 have it. Type 1 and 2 3.5 lens have
the same front element, not MC. A little extra info in case anyone's
interested.
