Oly made all their own bodies except the OM2000. That same basic Cosina
body was also sold as a Nik*n and heaven (and some list member who will
post a list) knows what else.

Oly made 2 distinct lines of bodies. The single digit OM-1, 2, 3 and 4
series bodies were built to pro standards. The double digit OM-10,
20(G), 30(F) and 40(PC) were generally well designed, but built to
'consumer' standards, with more plastic, lighter, cheaper parts, etc.,
with the expectation that they would be used less and less rigorously
than the pro bodies.

OM-10s were a bit flaky before a redesign that started with serial #1
million. After that, they were considerably more reliable. The OM-20
(OM-G in the US) is what the 10 should have been, with the manual
capability built in, rather than requiring a plug-in adapter. A very
nice basic camera, but without TTL flash.

The OMPC is one of my favorite OMs. It adds full TTL flash capability,
full mirror/aperture pre-fire, and a Program mode. The big thing for me
is the then new ESP metering option. ESP metering automatically takes
care of all kinds of metering situations like back lighting that are
fooled by regular averaging metering. More useful for casual shooting
than spot, too. Put it in program mode with ESP on and it is a great
focus and shoot camera, use it on Auto to control your own DOF, etc. or
go to full manual.

The bad news? Some folks have reported erratic/inaccurate metering in
very low light. Others have reported circuit boards dying, and
replacements aren't either available or economically practical. I have
several and have never had a problem with the circuits. They can also
fall prey to a plastic part in the rewind mechanism that can fail and
lock up the camera. Again, new parts aren't available, but have to be
scavenged from parts bodies.

More good news? They are cheap.
