I found plain 2 tends to noticeably underexpose backlit subjects on auto
mode, even when the area of the subject is 75% that of the picture area and
the remaining bright 25% background is some 3 stops brighter. Roughly.
If I remember to turn to manual and read the subject only, it sometimes
helps.
Maybe the 2N behaves better, I don't know. I prefer the plain 2, though I
may be wrong.
