I'm starting to see a pattern here. I'll be 50 in August and purchased my
first Oly in 1976 at age 22, an OM-1 with 50/1.8 SC (still have it).

Nice thread. I turned 50 last September. Bought my first OM when I was 23
years old, stationed in Japan in the Air Force. OM-1 with 50/1.4. Tactile
comparison to the C*non and M*nolta offerings made the decision elementary.
