I've thought about these issues. The site is highly automated, and will
normally generate small amount of manual work. This makes rules based on
number of auctions or extremities of data hard to implement. On the other
hand, I always give the number for included auctions, and even though it's
not completely accurate when the number of auctions is low, it's still
giving better information than no listing at all.

I focus the manual activities on assuring that no items list themselves in
the wrong category.

I also list the latest 50 auctions, with link to Ebay. (Linked marked
"Details") Note that eBay only guarantees the existence of the auctions for
90 days after ending, but they normally list them longer. This gives the
user the opportunity to see the details behind the averages, and increase
the understanding of pricing of low volume items. The general listing
provides a easy navigation opportunity for reaching the detailed lists.

The Motor Control Pack case is correct. Note that a considerable number of
the items are coming from Olympus America, and they are reaching slightly
higher ending bids than the average.

Details can be found at:

I will further develop the service, and will consider using different
statistic measures. Median is one relevant alternative.

Thanks for the response.

Markus
