Here are some updates on the subject.
- Since the OM (Zuiko) lenses are not designed for the digital imaging
purpose, the quality of the images will be less than optimal with the
E-1. Therefore, the adapter will NOT be sold as a regular item and it
will only be distributed for free to those place an order. This
  service applies only in Japan.
- Adapters are distributed to ONLY (in Japan) who turned in the order
form (one time offer) and the items are delivered in the order of first
come first serve until they run out. The order form is mailed to the
  registered E-1 owners.
- The order forms are to be distributed to who has registered under
  http://www.olympus-esystem.jp/usr_reg/index.html
from January 15. The shipment of the free adapters are to begin in
  late February.
- The order form must accompay a copy of warranty.
- Manual focus anly.
- Focus distance doubles.
- Aperature priority and manual exposure possible .
- Auto exposure adjustment does not work, however, Program AE and
shutter priority AE can be used. - I don't understand 'AE adjustment'.
- No aperature information displayed in view finder.
- Focusing must rely on the viewing of the focusing screen.
- List of compatible lenses will be sent together with the adapter.
- Almost all non-zoom OM lenses can be used with limited aperature
  ranges. For example, F-stop range of 1.4 - 8 for Zuiko 50mm/f1.2.
- List of compatible lenses are being distributed at various camera
outlets. Majority of Zuiko lenses (48 of them) can be used except
  300mm/f4.5, 400mm/f6.3, 600mm/f6.5, 1000mm/f11,
  20mm/f2.0Macro, 38mm/f2.8Macro, 1.4XA-TC, 2XA-TC
- Only 28mm-48mm/f4 and 35mm-80mm/f2.8 zooms have the full usable
zoom range. All other zoom lense have limited zoom range.
