Welcome to the list!

The zoom slip can be corrected, but you would have to partially disassemble the
lens to get to the adjustment.  It's not something I'd like to try and talk
anyone through, especially someone not practiced in lens repair.  It's one of
those "it's easy if you know how" kinds of things.
