Many thanks for all the advice on repairing the little Epic.
I'll go the way of the tape etc. I have too much else on at present to consider
taking it apart and risking losing vital bits, or me ruining components that
have stuck them selves together, if I were to separate them.
Andrew Fildes suggestion of windscreen sealant is of some interest but I'm
not sure about merit; I know from considerable experience of using the
Selleys variant that over time it migrates - which is a good thing for a car
windscreen since it fills those small channels that water uses in its capillary
action, and which are otherwise so difficult to find and plug. But it just
might
find its way to the lens as well ;-((
Actually I think not since it's not all that fluid, but it IS horribly sticky.
And
black, so it really shows.
