Peek closely at the ready light window -- sometimes the bulb accidentally gets
bent aside when the circuit board is replaced after "surgery".

If not, the solder joints to the legs of the ready light sometimes break loose
-- a touch with a soldering iron fixes that.  After that, it's usually bad
diodes as John noted, or maybe a bad main cap (rare, but...), or even more
unlikely a crack in the circuit board (when they crack, it's near the edge, not
in the middle where the ready light is located).  Bad bulbs almost never occur,
but you could be the first!
