Well, more or less that depends upon how tall the tree is and which
shift you are using. The 35mm shift gives you the ability to take any
portion (63 deg. angle of view ?) of an image circle that encompasses a
field of view of about 84 degrees.The 24mm image circle is about 100
degrees. So around here you definetely will need the 24mm shift to get
the tops of the trees :>) I think of a shift lens as giving me the
ability to crop a scene without leaving all those discarded pixels on
the cutting room floor.
