I have 'foreign exchange' on my home phone, which enabled me to retain my
old phone number when I moved last year. Intermittently now, since
Saturday, that I know of, the phone line will be unavailable to me. I'll
pick up the receiver, and hear modem 'sizzle', if I hang on long enough I'll
hear disconnect, momentary dial tone, then another number being called, and
sizzle. I can't break in. (my PC is disconnected from everything at this
point, by the way). Verizon is thus far 'mystified'. One service call thus
far to no avail. I'm a little nervous...
