While you're correct that the name of the list does not limit it to just
OM equipment, the fact you have not been around the list long (compared
to how long it has been running) means you don't know the original
intent of the list. This isn't your fault (or anyone else's), since the
intent is not clearly spelled out anywhere. In the beginning, questions
about other types of cameras were few, and easy to deal with. However,
questions about digital cameras are quickly taking over this list.
Perhaps it is time for Thomas to split the list into digital and
non-digital. I'm not being a curmudgeon or a luddite. I use digital
cameras in my job and at home all the time, but I feel strongly that
this list is not the place for questions about digital cameras. I know
many of you disagree with me. I'm just trying to put the history and
original intent of the list (as I understand it) into perspective for
everyone.
