I am pretty sure that Sirius is also marketed as Samyang, Exakta and maybe
also Soligor.
I have had an 18-28 in the Sirius guise, and while it is no Zuiko in terms
of cosmetics (design and finish), nor in terms of size and weight, and it
also focuses the wrong way, it is very usable as an intro to ultra-wide
lenses. You may well find that you don't use the zoom much, keeping it at
18mm, which will give you a clue as to which of the 16/18/21 Zuiko you
really need.
GBP59 sounds an OK price, such that when you are done with it you could sell
on for a good fraction of what you paid.
Oh, did I mention the optical performance? You will find that the image
brightness drops considerably into the corners, for starters - don't try
photos of plain white walls.

Subject: [OM] Another travel kit type question
Judging by the other similar threads I don't expect a consensus ;-) but a
little advice would be appreciated.
In a few weeks I'm off to Gozo (another island off Malta) and I was
wondering if any of the list members had been before and could offer advice
on where and where not to go.
Secondly, I'm considering purchasing a 18-28mm,4/4.5 Sirius lens for the
trip (Sorry a wide Zuiko is out of the price range at the moment, please
don't judge me too harshly) and again I was wondering if anyone had any
experience of this lens. I have a 28mm,2.8 Zuiko which I'll be taking (or a
Vivitar 28-80mm). I've not used anything wider than this so I've no idea
what to expect. The price seems cheap (at 59GBP) for something in that
range.
All opinions welcome.....
