The main thing a light meter will do is force you to stop and think
about what light your meter is reading. You could probably do fine with
your OM1 if you stop and think, perhaps pointing your OM up, down and
around watching how the meter changes before snapping each picture.

If you really want a separate light meter the earlier suggestion of a
50-250 mounted on an OM4 is excellent, unless you decide to take a lot
of flash pictures.
