If you are considering the 65-200 Zuiko, but are nervous about hazy
elements, a good alternative is the Tamron SP 70-210/3.5. Made from
1984-2000, there are a lot about. Test results(see Gary Reese's tests) are
very good. Dimensionally it is 154.5 x 71mm, re 147 x 71mm for the Zuiko.
Weight is 916g vs. 730g, but you get a f3.5 lens instead of an f4. Both
have a closest focus of 85mm, but the Tamron gives continuous focus at all
focal lengths, whereas the Zuiko gives 85mm only at 200mm focal length with
close focus, otherwise 120mm is closest. The Tamron also has a clever
zooming arangement that gives better lens hood shading at long focal
lengths.

That said, if you can find a clean one, it's a really nice lens -- the
close-up feature is very handy at times, and actually goes close enough to
be worthwhile. Sure, it's not a real macro lens, but it's let me carry one
fewer lens and still get reasonable closeups on things. The downwnside is
that it can be pretty awkward to hand-hold 200mm macro shots..
