 Well, if they had an appropriately enlarged version of the sensor from the
C50, that does 2560x1920 (=4.92mp) in a 7.18x5.32mm sensor -- 4/3 sensor is
18x13.5mm, so theoretically the E1 could do 6417*4872 = 31 megapixels.

 That assumes that the two sensors are the same, of course, which they
aren't -- smaller pixels = lower sensitivity, and then there's transfer
rates, etc, but as far as sensor size goes, it could (sort of) do 31
megapixels _now_.
