I have actually begun that process. Shame about 49mm. Hama makes a
center-squeeze cap for 49mm, but not nearly as good as Tamron. Not even close.
You won't be excommunicated by me. I could probably find some other issues
over which to have you tarred and feathered though (and vice versa). ;^)

I have actually given serious consideration to replacing all my
55mm and 72mm Olympus lens caps with Tamron caps. They just work
so darn much better. At least, that's my opinion. I can't do the
same with the 49mm caps, though, because I don't think Tamron
makes that size.
It's still just a thought, but it may turn into a deed someday
soon.
