Re: [OM] OM-1n/shoe 4 question

The TTL control signal from both cameras is compatible with both flashes, hence
the shoe 3. The problem is purely mechanical, ie pin arrangement on the foot,
pins on the shoe and the small matter of a thread direction reversal. Oly
evidently believed that people would upgrade their flash system more readily
than upgrading their body.
You could make yourself a "shoe 3A" by taking the base of a shoe 4 and
rebuilding it around the pin - plate from a shoe 2. Unless you have a pair of
scrap shoes, however, this is very unlikely to be worthwhile. QA310s don't
offer any advantages over T series, and for your trouble you get lower
reliability and fewer functions.
The only real need I can see for a QA310 is OM 1 and bounce grip, but you're
probably better off with third party (or a T45!!!)
