First, use proper batteries.  Lithium battery (CR 1/3N) can cause meter
needle errors of up to 3 stops. Use silver oxide only:  357, SR44, G13, S76,
MS76, KS76.
Meter position and actual auto exposure or shutter speed are separate items
and adjusted individually.  Meter can be good, speeds wrong, auto needle in
wrong position, auto exposure spot on etc.  The bad combination is meter
needle wrong in manual mode.  In this case, even if speeds are good, you'll
be under/over whatever the needle shows.
