I just saw the Olympus "E System" components on display at the PMA
Show.
Olympus was controlling the flow of information and they had nothing
to say
other than that there will be a June 24 press release on the system.
On
display, under glass, was an downsized E-10 looking camera with its
Power
Battery Holder, a 50mm f/2 Macro (52mm filter thread and nothing like
the
Zuiko in build), a 300mm f/2.8 which looked like the Zuiko without
the grip,
a 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5, a 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5, plus two flashes: a small
FL-20
from the Camedia System and a look-a-like to a EZ style Canon
Speedlite. The
flashes had 4 contacts on the foot.

Rear caps were on the lenses, so I couldn't determine anything about
mechanical or electronic linkage. There was no E to OM System
converter on
display. All the lenses were called: "Olympus Lens." The camera is
capable
of AP, SP and Programmed Auto, plus Manual. The E System lenses can
be used
in manual or AF. Given that, plus that the E System mount diameter
looks
bigger and the mount to sensor distance is less than on an OM body, a
OM to E
System converter looks workable.

Fuji had a display with pictures from the new Astia 100F and Velvia
100F. The
former has a RMS Granularity of 7 (best in the world) and Velvia 100F
is an
8, tied with Provia 100F. For film scanning it looks like Astia will
be a
great choice for the neutral film fans who can boost saturation all
they want
on the computer.
