I just had a similar experience. I think sometimes the server is resting
(or doing something else) and doesn't deliver any posts for some time.
If one posts just before such a pause, it may be quite a few minutes
before the post shows up. Other posts that appear to have been sent
after yours may actually have been sent before, but from a different
time zone.
