"What changed my mind was seeing that the new lab got only somewhat better
prints of the Konica-developed negatives, and that when the new lab was
given the whole processing task, the results were far better than ever seen
with Konica. This has held up for five or six rolls so far."

Joe,

RUN! This is amazing. For C41 processing to be so bad that it repeatably is
obvious in machine prints is remarkable. The processing is more than bad.
Something is more than out of whack. If it happens over weeks time, it can't
be the chemistry, assuming they change it on a regular basis (assuming it is
in a mini-lab type roller transport machine) or monitor and replenish
correctly (in cine and dip and dunk machines). It has to be a time or temp
situation, unless there is a Konica chemistry that is uncompatible with
other films (unlikely, as plenty of people are using Konica film in
Kodak/Fuji/Trebla chemistry).

Be very scared!
