ah, I also mentioned Sigma, which many list members have.  I also recall
that some have AF wunderbricks as well.  Mine is an F80.  Lens price is a
bit steep for me, but I am curious on these lens motors!!!

The Nikkor AF-S 300/4 is one sweet piece of glass! I 
played with one at a local store and loved its AF speed
and feel. I have heard the silent wave motors are
reliable but they haven't been around long enough to
know for sure. Check the photo.net archives for more 
info. Its also much lighter than the 80-200/2.8
as it probably has about half the number of elements.

But remember, dicussing Nikkors on this list can amount
to blasphemy. So be careful :)
