I highly recommend Mesa Verde, the cliff dwellings there. Admittedly, it's
been (gulp) only about 40 years since I was there with my family on a cross
country trip, but it's REALLY stuck with me all these years. Some
spectacular archaeology and scenery.
Mesa Verde was choked with snow when I went there in October several
years ago. November is probably not a good time. To get to it from
Denver is also a potentially snowy trip through Durango.
