The Zuiko is a 1.4x and they do sell on EBAY once in a while. They are
usually about $350 to $365 as I recall. Vivitar makes a 1.5x. I have them
both but have never had time to do a decent comparison test. /jnm

Zuiks

When is the last time anyone has seen an Oly 1.5x
teleconverter for sale (or exist)? Neither B&H or KEH
has had one in the last 2 years I believe. And I
haven't seen one on evilBay yet. Are they really rare
or this this a coincidence of absence that I've
experienced.

What made me think of it is the price for the Vivitar
2x teleconverter recently discussed. Folks were says
$65 is a lot for this. The Oly 1.5x is quite a bit
more as I recall. Is it that much better than the
Vivitar? Or is it the brand name? Yes I know a 2X is a
different animale from a 1.5x, like one stop but what
about the optical performance?

I've got the Oly 2x. It is very good but I sure notice
the 2 stop loss and it is kinda long. With a 200 f4
lens or a 90 f2 or any other lens over 90 you really
need a tripod mount.
