The guy in the camera shop tells me that this is "ONLY a flash meter and not
very good".

This is incredible. I'll bet that of working studio pros, especially
commercial/industrial, that have been in the business more than a few years,
more use the Minolta meters than all others put together. although I'm not a
fan of the Minolta cameras, I think their meters are the most durable made.
I've got a friend that has the very meter you have, and has used it in
studio and on location for a good 15 years, it seems, and it still is as
reliable as the day it was new. My autometer III (only measures flash at 60
and 125, no corded connection) has served me well for seven or eight, and I
got it used. What a dolt!

I do think that Sekonic is really taking the market, but you probably hace
already read about my bad experience. the percentages among younger
photographers is probably in favor of Sekonic.
