My experience has been 30-40%; I've never seen or heard of 50%. One local
place accepts consignments (subject to gallery owner approval) at %20, but
that's low and the "gallery" operation is an adjunct to what is really a
combination vegan coffee house and antique clothing store. Temper this
with the fact I've only dealt with a small number of galleries.
