Hi, Chris!

Well, the 40/2 will be perfect for my needs and "taste". If only I could find
one at a reasonable price... Anyone listening? ;^)

I'm very interested in your opinion about the 35/2 performance. I don't mind
about its bigger size, but it seems to have a not-so-good reputation if wide
open, though it improves when stopped down (as it would be normal).

The question is: how does it *really* compare with the 35mm f/2.8 wide open (or
at f/2.8 if we want to be fair)?

I saw the old MTF tests posted in this ML days ago, but all MTF tests - though
very indicative of a lens performance - do focus only on a small portion of the
light spectrum, hence they could be somehow "untrue" (or "unfair").

Probably...

I've never been in the UK or USA in my life, but friends of mine say that my
accent is quite Scottish... 8^)

You're welcome!

OK. I was doubtful, indeed!

No problems!

You were right with your first assumption! I'm 100% Italian (don't know if I
have to consider myself lucky or not ;^)

>Ciaio

I hope that you will allow me this little correction, as an
Italian saviour of my language from the rest-of-the-world assault... ;)

The word is written "ciao" (pron. : "chòw") and derives from an old Venetian
sentence which was commonly used as a salutation ("s'ciao tuo!" - "I'm your
servant!").

...

...

I know yours was only a mistyping... :)

>Chris

Ciao!
