Well said AG! I "play around" in the darkroom and sometimes I get to the
stage where I can say YES thats the print as I visualised it! It suits me
BUT I can't guarantee that others will like it . It comes down to personal
taste. It is a VERY personal thing. How often do you read a book or listen
to a drama on radio (wireless) which is later turned into a film
(movie/screenplay) and find it totally "wrong" in that the characters are
not as you visualised them!
Infra red film does not give" Realistic results " does that
mean we are wrong to use it? How about sepia or selenium toning ? Or Man
Ray's use of the Sabattier process- surely an art form in itself. Use
whatever you need to get the results you envisage...Don't be afraid to
experiment to get the end result.
