Ah Yes, there are always too many toys to buy. Perhaps what you, or someone
else, needs for that trip is my pair of giant 20x80 binoculars. Those make
great images but they must be recorded in your mind and that makes it tricky
to share. I used them last week to look for a sow grizzly and two cubs that
have been seen feeding on a bison carcass in Yellowstone Park near Mammoth.
I did get one look at her as she went over a ridge top but it was about a
mile away. Given a little more time I could have photographed her from that
distance but was raining and the lighting was poor so it would not have been
a good picture.

The bison calves are at a cute stage now but were not very active the day I
was there. The bull elk are growing their new horns now but the elk still
are losing their winter hair and most are a little scrufty looking yet. Many
of the cow elk are nearly ready to calve. The Park has had some rain lately
and is greening up nicely. We have one snow drift left in the yard at the
cabin so summer may be close.

I would like to go to the Yukon but if is just too difficult for us to do. I
won't complain though as we have some great areas close by. Have a great
trip.

/jim

Hi Jim,

Not to worry, I think I'll pass for now. We'll be
leaving in a little more than a fortnight, and there
are still some things I need to get. I'll see how
much is left in the coffers after the trip ;-)

Cheers,

Ralph
