I have a "made in Japan" 50mm f/1.8 and the lens appears clear, showing no color and I have another showing the greenish tone. A good FAQ site:

I was examining the color of the reflections from the
front element of two 50/1.8 (made in japan) versions.
I was a little surprised to see that they were different.
The one whose serial no. starts with 3XX.... has a pronounced green, while the other 5xx......is purple.
I thought all the 50/1.8 MIJ versions were the same,
when did the coating change and are there any differences in performance? I know there is a site that discusses the Zuiko coatings and their color, just can't remember what it is.
