Based on your problem description, you may be able to use PCB "tape" in lieu of de-soldering/re-soldering (which could cause additional problems, i.e. domino effect). Non-conductive board tape, usually orangish in color of varying widths (cut to length), could provide the stiffness and resultant conductivity you are looking for. My 0.02 USD
